Delete your Cerqa account
Last updated: 2026-08-28
Cerqa is used by companies to manage their staff. Your employer created your account, and your employer decides on deletion: we process the data on their instructions, not on our own behalf.
How to request it
- In the app: Profile → Your account → Request account deletion. The request reaches your company's administrators and you can follow its status.
- If you cannot sign in, email privacidad@cerqa.de with your name and the company you work or worked for. We pass the request to whoever administers your account.
What is erased
- Your access to the app.
- Your chat messages and any files you attached.
- Your profile photo, phone number and email address.
- Your device's notification token.
What is kept, and why
Your time and absence records are not erased on request. They are not app data: they are employment records your company is required by law to keep, including after you have left. In Spain, RD-ley 8/2019 sets four years for time records; elsewhere the period differs and your employer determines it.
GDPR allows for this: Article 17(3)(b) exempts processing that is necessary to comply with a legal obligation. Once the retention period expires, keeping them is no longer justified and your employer can delete them.
Who decides
Your employer is the data controller and Cerqa is the processor. That is why we cannot erase a company's records on our own, even at the request of the person they describe. If you believe your employer is not acting on your request, you can complain to your country's data protection authority.
See the privacy policy for the full list of what the app collects.
